Athletic Performance & Sports Injury Management

We strive to assist others reach their genetic potential. Our techniques aim in maximizing your abilities to react to external stimuli, increase your cognitive abilities and improve athletic performance. We assist athletes of all levels achieve their goals.

Micheal Phelps won the gold medal in the 2008 summer olympics 100 meter butterfly.  He won by 1/100th of a second. The difference between first and second place can be fractions of a second. To achieve our full potential we must have dedicated and focused training.

We excel in improving vestibular and eye-movement capabilities as well as physical fitness. These qualities improve:

  • Cognitive Processing

  • Reaction time

  • Accuracy

  • Balance

  • Endurance

  • Coordination

  • Speed

  • Strength

Sports injuries are disorders that affect the movement of the musculoskeletal system and include muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, discs, or blood vessels. Oftentimes, there are underlying neuromuscular imbalances which predispose the patient to an injury.

Common sports injuries include but not limited to:

  • Osteoarthritis

  • Tendonitis

  • Bursitis

  • Muscle strains

  • Ligament sprains

  • Spinal disc injuries

  • Repetitive stress injuries (RSI)

  • Plantar fasciitis

  • Sprains and strains

  • Knee injuries

  • Swollen muscles

  • Achilles tendon injuries

  • Pain along the shin bone

  • Rotator cuff injuries

Eye Movement Coordination

In sports like tennis, soccer, and basketball, an athlete's eye movements may be critical for tracking the movement of the ball and making split-second decisions about where to move or how to strike it. Similarly, in activities like golf or baseball, eye movements can help an athlete judge distances and aim their shots accurately. There are several factors that can influence an athlete's eye movements, including their visual acuity (sharpness of vision), eye-hand coordination, and cognitive processing speed. Here, we build up eye movement capability. We excel in improving your ability to locate and track the ball in sports. To improve decision making in sports among many other components.

Eye movements role in athletic performance help an athlete track and anticipate the movements of a ball or other object, or judge distances and speeds.

Vestibular Integrity

The vestibular system is a sensory system located in the inner ear that is responsible for detecting movement, balance, and spatial orientation. It plays an important role in athletic performance, as it helps the body maintain balance and coordination during physical activity. To improve vestibular system function and athletic performance, you can engage in vestibular rehabilitation exercises and activities. These may include balance board exercises, eye-tracking exercises, and head and neck movements.

Vestibular activity can play a role in an athlete's balance, coordination, and spatial awareness, which are important factors in many sports.

Physical Performance

Physical Performance can be affected by a variety of factors, including physical fitness levels, nutrition, sleep, and overall health. Underlying health conditions or injuries can impede on our ability to maintain or achieve peak performance. We thouroughly evaluate your health, fitness levels, and goals to achieve peak performance. To improve physical performance, you can engage in regular physical activity and exercise.

The ability of an athlete to perform various physical tasks and activities related to their sport.

Athletic Qualities

Cognitive processing allows an athlete to make quick and accurate decisions based on their surroundings and the actions of their opponents or teammates. This helps athlete anticipate and react to changing game situations, maintain focus and concentration, and execute plays and strategies effectively. Several factors influence an athlete's cognitive processing, including their visual and auditory processing skills, memory and attention, and problem-solving abilities.

Cognitive Processing

AKA cognitive function, refers to the mental processes involved in acquiring, storing, and using information.

Good balance allows an athlete to stay upright and maintain their balance and coordination when changing direction, jumping, or reacting to external stimuli, which can help an athlete perform at their best and minimize the risk of injury. Several factors that can impact an athlete's balance, including strength and flexibility, sensory and vestibular system function, and cognitive skills.

Balance

Allows an athlete to maintain their stability and control while moving or performing various physical tasks.

Speed allows an athlete to cover ground quickly, react to changing game situations, and execute movements and actions with a high degree of speed and quickness. There are several factors that can influence an athlete's speed, including their muscle strength and power, body composition, and neural function.

Speed

Speed is the ability to move or perform a task quickly.

Mobility in athletic performance refers to the ability of the body to move freely and easily through a full range of motion. It is an important factor in many sports, as it allows athletes to perform movements and skills effectively and efficiently. Without proper mobility strength, power, and coordination are limited in what they can achieve.

Mobility

The ability to maintain flexibility in motion. Refers to the range of motion through muscles and joints.

Reaction time allows an athlete to quickly and accurately respond to the movements and actions of their opponents or teammates and allows them to make quicker decisions and take more precise actions. Several factors influence an athlete's reaction time, including sensory processing speed, cognitive skills, and physical fitness.

Reaction Time

The amount of time it takes for an individual to respond to a stimulus, such as a sound or a visual cue.

Endurance allows an athlete to maintain their physical performance and energy levels throughout the duration of a game or event. Good endurance can help an athlete compete at a high level and sustain their physical output for longer periods of time. The main two forms are aerobic and anaerobic Capacity.

Endurance

AKA Metabolic Capacity. The ability to sustain physical activity or effort over an extended period of time.

Strength allows an athlete to generate the force needed to perform various physical tasks and movements. Proper nutrition and hydration can support strength, as they can help an athlete maintain and build muscle mass and support muscle function.

Strength

Strength is the ability to generate force or resistance against an external object or movement.

Stability in sports refers to the ability to maintain balance and control of the body during physical activity. It is an important factor in many sports, as it allows athletes to perform movements and skills effectively and efficiently. Proper stability assist in preventing injury in limbs or joints by preventing excessive movement.

Stability

The ability to prevent movement in one part of the body while creating movement in another.

Accuracy is an important factor in many sports, as it allows an athlete to execute their movements and actions with a high degree of precision. Good accuracy can help an athlete hit a target or make a pass with a high degree of accuracy, which can be crucial for success in many sports.

Accuracy

The ability to perform a task with a high level of precision and without errors.

Coordination allows an athlete to execute movements and actions with a high degree of precision and efficiency. Activities such as throwing a ball or hitting a target, with a high degree of accuracy and control. Several factors that can influence an athlete's coordination, including their muscle strength and flexibility, sensory processing skills, and cognitive function.

Coordination

The ability to use different parts of the body together smoothly and efficiently in order to perform a task or activity.

In athletics, power is an important factor in many sports, as it allows an athlete to generate the quick, explosive movements needed to perform various physical tasks and actions. Good power can help an athlete perform at a high level and compete effectively in their sport.

Power

Power is the ability to generate force or movement quickly and explosively.
